1. Who we are (data controller)
Aldea Press is the publishing imprint of Felipe Uribe, trading as Aldea Press, a natural person domiciled in Medellín, Colombia. Address: Cra 15A # 10B - 240, Medellín, Colombia. Email: hello@aldeapress.com. Phone: +1 513 302 2698. He is the data controller (“Responsable del Tratamiento”) under Colombian Law 1581 of 2012.
2. What we collect and why
Only if you join our newsletter: your email address and, if you choose to give it, your first name. We use them only to send Aldea Press news: new books, free puzzles and village stories, about twice a month. Legal basis: your consent (Law 1581 of 2012; GDPR art. 6(1)(a)). When you just visit, our web host keeps standard technical logs (date, page requested, IP address) to keep the site secure. We use no advertising trackers or analytics cookies. When you sign up, we keep a record of when you confirmed (proof of your consent). Our emails may record whether they were opened and which links were clicked, only so we can make them more useful.
3. What we never do
We do not sell, rent or trade your data, and we do not use it for any other purpose. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13; the newsletter is for adults.
4. Who processes it for us, and where
Brevo SAS (France, EU) stores our newsletter list and sends our emails, including the email that asks you to confirm your subscription. Netlify, Inc. (USA) hosts this website and keeps its technical logs. Netlify is in the United States, so those logs are transferred outside Colombia and the EU. We only use providers that process data on our instructions.
5. Your rights
At any time you can: know, update and correct your data; ask for proof of your consent; be told how we have used it; withdraw your consent and ask us to delete your data; and access it free of charge. EU residents can also ask for data portability and restriction. If you think we have not respected your rights, you may complain to Colombia’s Superintendencia de Industria y Comercio (www.sic.gov.co) or, in the EU, to your local data-protection authority.
6. How to exercise them
Write to hello@aldeapress.com with the subject “Privacy”. We answer questions (consultas) within 10 business days and claims (reclamos: correction, deletion, withdrawal) within 15 business days, as Law 1581 requires. Every email we send has a one-click unsubscribe link.
7. How long we keep it
Until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. After that we keep only a record that you opted out, so we never write to you again. This database stays in force while Aldea Press operates.
8. Changes
If this policy changes, we will update the date above and, for important changes, tell subscribers by email.
Buying our books
Our books are sold on Amazon. When you follow a “Find it on Amazon” button you leave our site, and Amazon’s own privacy policy applies.
